September 3 – 10, 2017

Welcome to the Reverend Richard Gariépy — The Reverend Rick Gariépy will lead St. Margaret’s 9:30 service for three weeks, starting today. Some parish members remember his assistance with worship at All Saints Sandy Hill a few years ago, and the energy and time he freely volunteered during moving week into St. Margaret’s. Since then, Rick has been assisting in West Quebec and Smith’s Falls parishes. We are delighted to reconnect and worship together here in Vanier.

Whew, that was close — Kudos to St. Margaret’s new building manager Richard Gauvreau and our carpenter Donn Hope for keeping St. Margaret’s dry and sound after the “extreme weather event” on August 22. They cleared our plugged downspout and drains and dried out the swamped interior stairwell with speed and efficiency, in the nick of time.

Blessings on our parish children — and their parents as a new school year begins. May they find good friends and great learnings in their schools during the week, as they do each weekend in our Sunday School.

Save the date — The Rev. Jessica Worden-Bolling, who led our services through summer 2016, will be inducted as Incumbent of the Parish of St. Mark the Evangelist, Ottawa on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 7pm. Please attend if you can.

An invitation from Faith House — The group of six students living in the former All Saints rectory at 18 Blackburn Ave. (now the property of St. Margaret’s) invites us to come meet the residents, hear about their vision, and view Faith House on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 3-5 pm.

Wesley R. Warren organ recital — The one-hour programme (without intermission) will include works by Tomblings, Howells, Willan, Mendelssohn, Scheidemann, and Bach. Sunday 17 September at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Anglican Church, 70 James Street, Ottawa. Tickets at the door: $15 adults, $10 seniors/students. All welcome.
